(TITC) - On July 25, 2013, the technical meeting between the European Union funded "Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme (ESRT)" and Working Group of the 8 Greater North-West Provinces took place in Phu Tho.
In the first 6 months of 2013, eight provinces took part in Viet Nam International Tourism Mart (VITM 2013) in Ha Noi and organized conference to introduce tourism potential in North-West region; launched a photo contest on the beauty of North-West region 2013... In the coming time, in co-ordination with ESRT programme, eight provinces will focus on developing tourism products, promoting tourism potential, building cooperation mechanism, making plan for the National Tourism Year 2017 in Lao Cai...
At the meeting, the decision to establish the Regional Management Standing Committee of the eight provinces was also announced. With the members being leaders of Provincial Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Standing Committee has responsibility to consult and implement activities in the framework of eight province co-operation; promote and implement sustainable tourism development.
On this occasion, the ESRT programme organized technical training, provided knowledge of the role of e-marketing in regional destination promotion, and introduced e-marketing techniques for the webmaster of the Northern Highlands website (http://northernhighlands.vn).
