Traditional mid-Autumn Festival 2013 to take place in Hanoi ancient quarter

To preserve and promote cultural heritage value and popularize the image of Hanoi ancient quarter, from September 13 -19, the Hanoi ancient quarter management will organize traditional mid-autumn festivities for children with diverse cultural activities.
Cultural activities will introduce and display products of artisans from traditional handicraft villages in Hanoi, create traditional games for children from natural materials.

At Kim Ngan Temple at 42 and 44 Hang Bac street, paper toys such as five-fruit tray will be introduced.

At Dong Lac Temple at 38 Hang Dao street, folk toys made of paper, such as five pointed stars, and wooden toys, will be introduced. The welcoming traditional mid-Autumn festival atmosphere of a family in Hanoi will be displayed and Dong Ho folklore painting will be introduced at the Heritage House at 87 Ma May street.

The opening ceremony will take place at 10am on September 13 at Kim Ngan Temple. Activities will be held from 9am to 12 am and 2pm to 5pm.

According to the management board of Hanoi ancient quarter, the instruction on how to make traditional toys will help Hanoians, especially children, understand more about this kind of toy, bringing them closer to national tradition.
