Representatives of travel agencies from Vietnam and the republic of Korea (RoK) gathered at a gala night in the central city of Da Nang on December 17 to seek cooperation opportunities in the tourism sector.
Jointly organised by the RoK’s General Department of Tourism in Vietnam and the municipal Department of External Affairs, the event was a good chance to promote Da Nang ’s tourism potential and introduce direct air routes from the city to the RoK.
It also served as a venue for the two countries’ travel agencies to exchange information and look for partners in an effort to develop bilateral cooperation in this field in a deeper, more practical and effective manner.
Da Nang city boasts huge potential and advantages for developing tourism as it possesses deep seaports, a large international airport, convenient infrastructure and attractive tourist sites.
The city was listed among the top ten most attractive destinations in Asia in 2013 by the Smart Travel Asia magazine.
In recent time, Da Nang has seen the increasing number of RoK holidaymakers, mainly via direct air routes from Seoul to Da Nang . Over the last two years, the RoK has been one of the city’s five largest markets of foreign visitors.
More than 30,490 Korean tourists flocked to Da Nang in 2012 and the number increased 82 percent this year and is expected to continue soaring in the coming time as airlines plan to add flights to the RoK.
