Japan launches “Tokyo city promotion 2014”

(TITC) - On February 13th 2014, the Tokyo’s Tourism Department (Japan) held a seminar on “Tokyo city promotion 2014” in Ha Noi (Viet Nam).

This event is in the coorporative framework of Asia’s large cities in the 21st century. Besides Jakarta (Indonesia), Ha Noi is considered as one of promising destinations sending tourists to Tokyo around the Asia and Pacific region.

The event had the presence of Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong.

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy General Director Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his pleasure on Ha Noi becoming tourism promotion destination of Tokyo in 2014. The seminar was a chance for tourism businesses to cooperate and exchange tourism activities aiming to improve businesses effectiveness, he said.

In 2013, there were many important events and bilateral cooperation activities between Viet Nam – Japan on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam. In particular, the 5th Meeting of Viet Nam-Japan Tourism Co-operation has been held successfully by the VNAT and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Nov. 2013.

Mr. Cuong hoped that the two countries will further facilitate for tourism businesses to exchange tourists and enhance bilateral tourism cooperation. In addition, he also expected that Japan National Tourism Organization continues to support the promotion of Viet Nam’s image in Japan in the future.

After the seminar, there was a conference of hotel and travel businesses to exchange information and look for partner between two sides.
