(TITC) - According to Thua Thien Hue’s Deparment of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in the first quarter of 2014, the province attracted 650,662 tourist arrivals, increasing by 2.3% over the same period last year.
Of which, international arrivals were 271,365, increasing by 2.1%; domestic arrival were 379,397, increasing by 2%, over-night tourist arrivals were 397,603. Tourism receipts reached more than VND 621 billion, up 5% over the same period last year.
In April 2014, 8th Festival Hue with the theme “Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development” with a series of events of culture, art and sports will take place in 9 days (from 12 to 20 April) The festival is expected to attract nearly 200 thousand arrivals.
As planned, for 2014, Thua Thien Hue Province will strive for the target of receiving from 2.8 to 3 million arrivals, of which international tourist arrivals reach from 1.2 to 1.3 million, domestic tourist arrivals reach 1.7 to 1.8 million, over-night tourist arrivals reach 2 million. Tourism receipts reach VND 2,800 to 2,900 billion, up 16 to 18% over the same period 2013.
