The Ba Na Hills Resort in Da Nang city officially launched on April 26 a pull cable trolley affectionately named “Hiking Train”, allowing visitors to more conveniently tour the mountains and landscapes in the region.
The trolley, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, will take tourists to a variety of attractive destinations in the area such as Linh Ung Pagoda, Le Jardin flower garden and ancient villas.
It is designed in line with trolleys used in the late 15th and early 16th centuries in Austria, which were used to transport people and goods through the rugged mountainous areas surrounding the castle Hohensalzburg.
The main investor of the project, Sun Group, selected Switzerland’s world famous and reliable cable car maker, Garaventa to design the trolley.
Construction on the project began on July 26, 2013.
It can accommodate up to 80 people and run at speeds of 5 metre per second, handlling a capacity of 1,600 tourists per hour. On the occasion, Ba Na Hills offered discounts on tickets of VND50,000 per person.
