Viet Nam - an ideal travel destination for British visitors
Update: Sep 17, 2014
Viet Nam has recently emerged as one of top travel destinations for European tourists, including those from the UK, with more than 144,800 British arrivals in the first 8 months of this year.

They came to Viet Nam for different purposes such as attending conferences, working, relaxing and travelling.

According to travel agents, 65% of the British tourists choose Viet Nam as their ideal place to visit thanks to attractive tour prices, unique tourism products, beautiful landscape, and friendly environment.

To attract more British tourists, Viet Nam needs to enhance trade promotion, boost aviation-tourism links, simplify immigration procedures, increase international cooperation, strengthen marketing activities, and establish representative offices in the UK.

The tourism sector is advised to strengthen cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK to learn more about market approach in order to help Viet Nam become one of the British tourists’ top choices.

Viet Nam is currently granting visa exemptions for travellers from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Russia if they stay less than 15 days, and for travellers from a number of ASEAN countries for a 30-day stay.

The Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have also proposed that the Vietnamese government expand its visa waiver scheme for nine more international markets.

Accordingly, if approved, visitors from France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Canada would enjoy visa exemptions when travelling to Viet Nam.
