(TITC) - Da Ban Lake is located in Ninh Son Commune, Ninh Hoa Town, Khanh Hoa Province. This is the largest lake in Khanh Hoa Province.
From Ninh Hoa Town, following National Highway 1 about 12km to Ninh An crossroads and turning left to the path along Lot River (also known as Da Ban River) about 20km, visitors will come to Da Ban Lake.
Da Ban Lake was created in the early 1980s when the local people built dams in the source of Lot River. The leaf-shaped lake is 2km long, 1km wide and surrounded by protective primeval forest. In the middle of the lake emerged a black rock.
Water flows into the lake from three streams of Dua (Pineapple), Cai and Da Den (Black Rock). Dua Stream is twisty and winding by green grass. 500m from Dua Stream is Cai Stream with sand bank alternated black pebbles. Going to the source of the stream, visitors will feel refresh, pleasant thanks to cool white waterfall. The sound of birdsong mixed with waterfall creates a wonderful natural symphony... In these streams, there are a lot of shrimp, crabs, snails and fishes such as carp, eel, snake-head fish, black carp (India carp)... If staying overnight here, visitors will have opportunity to take part in cam-fire and catch Cheo (the animal is as big as the rabbit) with local people.
With the area of water surface of thousands hectares, Da Ban Lake is an ideal location to organize sports activities of water-skiing, sailing or build floating houses for visitors to fish and enjoy the local cuisine.
To Da Ban Lake, visitors also visit famous sites in two resistance wars against French colonial and American empire such as Yen Ngua (Saddle) Hill, Benh Xa (Infirmary) Cave, Command Cave…
