Update: Oct 10, 2014
The central province of Quang Ngai is endowed with many stunning and unblemished beaches which have potentialities to be developed into attractive tourist areas like Khe Hai, Nho Na, An Cuong, and Thanh Thuy in Binh Son District, My Khe Beach in Quang Ngai City, Minh Tan in Mo Duc District and Sa Huynh in Duc Pho District.

Moreover, tourists to the island district of Ly Son can also be amazed by the exotic attraction of beaches on the Lon Island and Be Island.

The seven-kilometer My Khe Beach, about 14 kilometers northwest of Quang Ngai City, is recommended as an ideal venue for travelers to indulge themselves on the fresh waves and immense greenness of the poplar forest. To My Khe, tourists can also have a chance to learn more about history at Son My historical relic which displays documents and artifacts about the wartime massacre.

Near the beach is the Kinh River and a water coconut forest that used to be the military base of Vietnamese soldiers. Truong Dinh Temple dedicated to national hero Truong Dinh and the tomb of Huynh Thuc Khang, formerly State President of the country in the 1930s, should also be listed in the itinerary of visitors.

Sa Huynh Beach, about 60 kilometers south of Quang Ngai City, is well-known for artifacts of Sa Huynh Culture. Located right on National Highway 1A, the nearly-six-kilometer beach befits enthusiasts of beach games as it has no underwater rocks and boasts golden sandy beach.

Meanwhile, Khe Hai Beach, about 35 kilometers from the city, must be an address for visitors to relax on white sandy beach under the shades of casuarinas lines.

Along with many beaches, the 10-square-kilometer Ly Son Island in Quang Ngai Province is really an amazing tourist attraction. From Quang Ngai Province, Ly Son Island can be reached by boat from Sa Ky fishing port at 8 a.m. every morning. The island is distinguished for its vast garlic fields with a pungent aroma and that explains why Ly Son is called the land of garlic.

Nestled in the Thoi Li Mountain is the 300-year-old Hang Pagoda, a peaceful sanctuary with ancient architecture. Other highlights of the island are old houses and An Vinh Temple which  worships the ancestors who explored and reclaimed the land four centuries ago.  The temple is also a venue to host offering ceremonies to marine soldiers who sacrificed their lives in missions on the East Sea and the offering ceremony to the souls of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa soldiers in the third lunar month every year.
