The project was made by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, who is also the creator a number of significant ceramic projects such as the four-kilometre ceramic mosaic mural on the wall of the dyke system of Ha Noi; a 2.3x1.9 metre map of Viet Nam; six ceramic paintings of Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago; and a lotus-shaped fountain at Mai Xuan Thuong flower garden.

The heart-shaped work was designed with the word ‘Ha Noi’ and Ha Noi’s logo inside. Ha Noi, written in bright red green blue and orange, offers a joyful visual for visitors.

The base of heart is decorated with 200 ceramic painting of Ha Noi. Two arc seats are installed on the two side of the heart. The seats’ backrests are decorated with ceramic pieces featuring Long Bien Bridge, Ha Noi’s Old Quarter, Chua Mot Cot (One Pillar Pagoda) and the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature), along with new sites such as the Nhat Tan Bridge, Dong Tru Bridge and Ha Noi Museum.

Painter Thuy was awarded the Bui Xuan Phai award for “For the Love of Ha Noi” in 2009 and the title of ‘Outstanding Citizen of the City’ in 2010 for her contributions to the capital city.

The ceramic project is expected to help promote Ha Noi's traditional beauty and famous sites.
