Low-cost airline Jetstar Pacific officially opened a new domestic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Hoi in Quang Binh province on February 1.
The new route will operate three flights per week on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, using a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
The first flight departed from Ho Chi Minh City at 1:30pm and landed at Dong Hoi at 2pm.
After landing at Dong Hoi airport, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tuan presented flowers to the first passengers of the route.
The new route aims to meet increased demand and improve trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchanges between Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Binh, as well as other provinces and cities in the region.
The route is part of Jetstar Pacific’s project connecting seven regions of Viet Nam in early 2015.
According to an announcement of Jetstar Pacific, over 7,500 visitors have currently booked tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City – Dong Hoi route.
