Following that flights from Ha Noi to Singapore, Kaohsiung, Taipei (Taiwan, China) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) are designed to operate from the new terminal between December 26th - 30th, 2014.

The carrier will also activate 48 check-in counters in the G - H area, and expected to add more 12 counters in the E - F area at peak times, doubling capacity compared with the current T1 terminal.

Passengers can enjoy the new modern, comprehensive and eye-catching services area of Vietnam Airlines, together with ticketing kiosks. Baggage claims and lost & found section are available on the 1st floor. A luxury VIP lounge, covering 750 square meters, meeting Skyteam standards, is located on the 4th floor.

Being invested by the Northern Airports Corporation, constructed and installed by the consortium Taisen-Vinaconex contractors, the T2 passenger terminal is designed to have four floors with a space area of 140,000 square meters, built at a cost of over JPY75 billion (USD960 million), including JPY59 billion from Japan’s ODA loan.

The project is expected to handle 10-15 million passengers per year by 2020, thus improving the quality of passenger service and create a new face of Noi Bai cargo terminal.

After 2020, the Government will consider investment in T3 and T4 terminals in order to raise the Noi Bai airport’s annual capacity to 50 million passengers.
