Diversified entertainment activities in Hoi An on the occasion of Lunar New Year Festival 2015

(TITC) - To welcome Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) 2015, from 18 to 24 February 2015 (the 30th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 6th day of the first lunar month), Hoi An City (Quang Nam Province) will organize Lunar New Year Festival 2015 with many specific activities to serve visitors and local people on the occasion of traditional Lunar New Year Festival.
 
The opening ceremony of Lunar New Year Festival 2015 will take place at 22h00 on 18 February (the 30th day of the last lunar month) in Hoai River Square with many vibrant art performances which have the participants of numerous international and domestic artists. At the moment Lunar New Year’s Eve 2015, in An Hoi Sculpture Garden, the art fireworks show will be held with impressive and spectacular performances.
 
Following that, from 19 to 24 February (the 1st to 6th days of the first lunar month), Hoi An City will organize many exciting activities such as Spring Calligraphy Festival, Voice of Spring and the Rhythm of Childhood Show, tree planting festival, “Colors of Youth” Competition, traditional boat racing, closing ceremony…
 
To create ebullient atmosphere for Tet, from 12 February (the 24th day of the twelfth lunar month), Hoi An organizes community cultural activities in many streets of the city such as flower market, flower street, decoration contest “Welcoming Lunar New Year 2015”, traditional and modern games… On this occasion, more than 50 communal houses, pagodas, churches, agencies, companies in Hoi An Ancient Town will respond to the program “Reconstruction of cay neu on Tet Holidays” in combination with lantern arrangement art.
 
In order to attract visitors on Lunar New Year Festival 2015, Hoi An City will offer free admission to Hoi An Ancient Town and some other tourists sites from 18 to 21 February (from 30th day of the last lunar month to 3rd day of the first lunar month, including 21 relic sites: Japanese Pagoda-Bridge; Cam Pho Communal House; Quan Cong Temple; Minh Huong Pioneers Chapel; Tran Family Chapel; museums of History and Culture, Trade Ceramics, Sa Huynh Culture, Folk Culture; old houses of Quan Thang, Duc An, Phung Hung, Tan Ky; assembly halls of Trieu Chau, Quang Dong, Phuc Kien; workshop of handicrafts and traditional arts performance; XQ Hoi An; Japanese tombs of Sokukun Gu, Tani Yajirobei and Banjiro.
