As many as 49 spring flower fairs will be organised in Ha Noi from February 9 to 18 on the occasion of the lunar New Year 2015.
Of those, 21 fairs will be arranged in the inner city, with the remaining to be held in the outer districts.
In the past few years, numerous flower fairs have been held to serve the consumer demands of local residents.
Apart from traditional fairs held on Hang Luoc and Lac Long Quan streets, a myriad of fairs are scheduled to take place in Thanh Xuan District, Cau Giay District, Ha Dong District, Tay Ho District and Hoang Mai District.
The municipal Department of Transport, the Ha Noi Police Department and the municipal Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department have been asked to implement measures to manage traffic congestion and prevent the outbreak of fires at the flower fairs.
Meanwhile, the district People’s Committees are requested to establish management boards of the fairs and co-ordinate with relevant agencies to ensure security and environmental hygiene at the fairs.
The city will work to prevent unauthorised spontaneous flower markets to ensure effective operation of official flower fairs in line with city regulations.
