UK magazine, The Guardian, has listed Hai Van (Sea Cloud) Pass in Viet Nam among the top 10 great scenic drives in the world.
According to the magazine, travellers can hire motorbikes or cars to ride along the pass as part of a one-day loop. At the top of the pass, visitors stand in awe of the amazing and beautiful views.
The magazine also quotes praises from the former Top Gear host, Jeremy Clarkson. As he puts it, the road is, “a deserted ribbon of perfection – one of the best coast roads in the world.”
Hai Van Pass is situated along the Hai Van mountain side, on the border of Thua Thien-Hue Province and Da Nang.
The most spectacular section spans 21 kilometers and comprises a series of hairpin turns, steep inclines and breath-taking vistas. Reaching a peak elevation of 496 meters, Hai Van Pass is often shrouded in a mist that rises from the sea.
