The 2015 Do Son sea tourism festival opened in Do Son district, in the northern city of Hai Phong on April 30, as part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation (May 13, 1955 – 2015) and Do Son’s liberation (May 15, 1955-2015).
During the opening ceremony, an art programme featured numerous performances by local artists and arts troupes praising the country and province, as well as the land and people of the coastal town.
At the festival, visitors will have a chance to enjoy a wide range of cultural events as well as join sports activities including a dragon boat race, a bike race, a tennis tournament and a fishing competition.
Over the past years, Hai Phong city, particularly Do Son district, has focused on developing sea and island ecotourism, resorts, sports, spiritual cultural tourism and festivals as well as promoting regional links in tourism among Do Son, Cat Ba (Hai Phong) and Ha Long (Quang Ninh).
On the same day, the Cua Lo sea tourism festival was held in the central province of Nghe An with a wide variety of cultural and art performances and a unique fireworks show.
Coming to the festival, visitors will have an opportunity to experience cultural and sports activities imbued with the characteristic identity of the locality. Cua Lo town strives to attract more than two million tourists in 2015 and earn VND2.076 trillion in 2015.
