Festival brings Viet Nam closer to the UK
Update: Sep 14, 2015
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh cut the ribbon to officially launch a Viet Nam discovery festival, the first-ever of its kind, in London.

On September 12-13, the banks of the Thames River and London Tower Bridge were transformed into colourful spaces showcasing Vietnamese culture, cuisine and crafts.

Exhibitions, music performances and Vietnamese traditional dishes were on offer, attracting approximately 20,000 - 25,000 visitors, including domestic, foreign and Vietnamese nationals.

The event was part of the 2015 Viet Nam Discovery Programme in celebration of the fifth anniversary of the Viet Nam-UK strategic partnership and the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

The programme was organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK and sponsored by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, Quang Ninh provincial authorities and Thien Minh Group.
