Quang Nam: Supporting restoration of 12 relics in 2015

In 2015, Quang Nam province supported and advanced grant VND 1.9 billion to restore the relics at risk of collapse in Hoi An ancient town.

Accordingly, 06 relic sites were Nguyen The Trieu tomb, Nguyen Dac Trinh tomb; Huong Tra communal house, Bay Say stele house in Tam Ky city; Hoi An communal house in Tien Phuoc, Kieu Phung tomb in Phu Ninh.

Authorities in the central province of Quang Nam have decided to spend VND1.85 billion or US$87,700 on urgent restoration of 12 historical sites in the province this year.

In detail, Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee has granted more than VND 337 million to assist the restoration of 2 privately and collectively owned relics including No.96 Bach Dang street, No.10 Nguyen Thai Hoc street. Also, an advance grant of over VND 1.56 billion from province’s budget was used to implement loan mechanism with aim of repairing, renovating relics of ancient houses in Hoi An ancient town.

As known, World Heritage Site Hoi An has 1360 relics including 1068 ancient houses, 11 old wells, 23 communal houses, 38 family temples, 19 pagodas, 43 temples, 44 ancient tombs, and particularly 1 bridge. There are about 1100 relics of which situated in ancient town area, the spirit of Hoi An ancient town.
