The Phu Quoc special zone is one of the few places in Vietnam where fireworks light up the sky almost every night of the year. On a seaside stage, a spectacular show combining music, water, fire, and technology tells the story of Phu Quoc and leaves a lasting impression on visitors.

Phu Quoc’s outdoor stage of the famous show “Kiss of the Sea” was named 'Largest permanent water projection theater' by the Guinness World Records organization in April. The 1000-square-meter water projection screen with three domes and 300 devices creates multi-effects of light, sound, fire, water, and lasers.
A tourist from Hanoi named Trịnh Phương Mai said: “I was very surprised by this stunning performance. The combination of water, sound, and light creates a magical effect. The images of actors and actresses are projected onto the water screen like a 3D movie.”
“Kiss of the Sea” is produced by ECA2, a French-based creator of world-class multimedia shows. It tells a love story about a Phu Quoc man and a female galactic guard. The story takes the audience from a relaxed state on a peaceful Phu Quoc beach to a climax in which a giant brings fire down to earth and an intense battle takes place. The characters were inspired by Vietnamese shadow puppets, but modern technology immerses the audience in the story.

Vu Thi Xuan Thu, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said: “I was impressed by the elaborate staging and the story, which combines a romantic love, a love of the sea, and the human aspiration to rise up. In the end, good triumphs over evil.”
Two characters in the show are a Phu Quoc dog and a dugong, a rare marine animal under threat, conveying a message about protecting endangered species.

Ho Thi Thuy Binh, a tourist from Hue city said: “The story is about loving and preserving nature. The dog and the dugong represent nature. They are playing together when suddenly a giant comes with fire to destroy the earth. Then the people fight back. Though dwarfed by the giant, their strength of unity prevails and they defeat the giant and save the earth.”
Each “Kiss of the Sea” show is followed by a 7-minute fireworks display combined with elaborate light effects. Nearby residents can enjoy fireworks at 9:30 p.m. almost every night.
Nguyen Thi Hoa, a tourist from Dong Nai province, said: “This is the first time I’ve come to Phu Quoc to experience the water show and fireworks. I really enjoyed it. The fireworks exploded right above our heads and it was spectacular.”
“Kiss of the Sea” is a showstopper that inspires visitors to return again and again to Phu Quoc.
