Update: Nov 15, 2011
On November 10, TransAsia Airways officially kicked off the operation of a new flight connecting Hanoi to Kaohsiung to meet the increasing travel demand between Taiwan and Vietnam.

The flight route will operate twice weekly a week on Monday and Thursday by an Airbus 320 aircraft with 12 business seats and 138 economy seats.

On the occasion of the launch, TransAsia Airways in Hanoi offered discounts on round-trip tickets for the Hanoi – Kaohsiung route at a cost of VND 8.15 million (USD 388).

Southeast Asia is an active aviation market and is the most developing market in the region as well as in the world, said TransAsia Airways. Accordingly, the new flight from Hanoi to Kaohsiung is part of the five-year development plan of the airline, showing its ambition in the Asian market.

Over the past few years, Taiwan was amongst the top countries and territories with the largest investment capital in Vietnam. The trading and travel demand as well as the human resource exchange between Vietnam and Taiwan is rapidly increasing.
