Addressing at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said that the National Tourism Year 2016 is a national event themed “Discovering the Southern land”. Organizing scale: in Kien Giang province and some provinces, cities in Mekong Delta including Ha noi, HCM City, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong and Lao Cai. There are 65 events in 2016.

It is a cultural event which contributes to increase more awareness of some levels, agencies and people about tourism development and natural resource of sea and island; develop sea and island to become tourism products in Kien Giang province and the region. It is a chance to introduce and propagandize some tangible and intangible cultural values, natural resource and tourism products.

Tran Chi Dung, a manager of Kien Giang Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the province has invested into developing the urban zone, focusing on some human resource to upgrade some main tourism zones to open scale. Some agencies of the province in association with the Central and local agencies build scenario and program to implement some tourism products in high quality.

On an occasion, the Organization Board opened the dialogue and called for some press agencies to increase an advertising quality of Phu Quoc tourism and use name, title and symbol of National Tourism Year 2016 to organize National Tourism Year 2016.

The opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – Mekong Delta will take place on April 09, 2016 and the closing ceremony on December 24, 2016 in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang.
