The Buddhist festival is held on February 17-19 (according to the lunar calendar); regarded as one of Viet Nam’s fifteen major ritual events, the festival honours Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva while praying for peace and prosperity.

The festival includes religious ceremonies and activities, including a prayer ceremony, a candle-lit flower release, a Zen-tea exhibition, photo and painting exhibitions, calligraphy performances and boat races.

The Quan The Am festival not only helps to preserve and uphold national cultural values, but also promotes the beauty of local customs and landscapes.

The Quan The Am pagoda, built in 1957, is located at the foot of the Kim Son (Metal Mountain) in the Ngu Hanh Son (Five Element Mountains) area.

Ngu Hanh Son area is about 8km away from the city’s centre and is home to picturesque natural landscapes with several ancient pagodas, mysterious caves and stunning scenery.
