Programme to highlight Vietnamese ethnic groups’ cultural essence

A wide range of activities will be organised at the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town in Ha Noi from April 15 to 19 to celebrate the cultural day of Vietnamese ethnic groups’.

The programme will draw the participation of Muong, Thai, Kho Mu, Gie Trieng and E De ethnic communities, who will introduce visitors to their cultural practices, traditional songs and dances, as well as folk games.

Traditional festivals will be reproduced on the occasion, including the fire dance festival and longevity celebration of the Dao people, in addition to the coming-of-age ritual of the E De people.

There will also be a national stick pushing competition and a seminar on promoting cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic groups.

The opening ceremony will be staged at 8 p.m. on April 16, bringing together around 400 professional and amateur artists.

Performances at the event will highlight the indigenous culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups throughout the country.

The programme aims to preserve and uphold the traditional cultural value of Vietnamese ethnic communities, enhance the great national unity bloc while advertising the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism as an attractive tourist destination for visitors from home and abroad.
