An Giang to hold Cham culture, sports, tourism festival

(TITC) – A culture, sports and tourism festival will be held in the Mekong Delta Province of An Giang from 15-17 July 2016 which aims to honour cultural values of Cham ethnic people.

The festival is expected to attract the participation of 11 cities and provinces including An Giang, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Ho Chi Minh City.

A series of activities promoting the distinctive traditions of Cham people will take place in the 3-day festival as: art performance; performance of folk festivals; Cham cuisine introduction; Exhibition on photos, objects, traditional customes, music instruments and typical cultural products of Cham people; traditional crafts introduction. A conference on “Cham people’s culture within sustainable construction and development” will also be held, besides many sport competitions.
