(TITC) - On 7 April 2017, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Viet Nam Society of Travel Agents (VISTA) and American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) was held in Ha Noi. This is the activity in the framework of Viet Nam International Travel Mart – VITM Hanoi 2017.

The ceremony had the attendants of Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho – Chairman of Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA); Mr Vu The Binh – Vice Chairman of VITA, Chairman of VISTA; Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong - Director of Travel Department (under Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism); Mr. Robert Duglin – Vice Chairman of ASTA and representatives of US tour operators.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Vu The Binh emphasized that the United States (US) is a potential tourist market of Viet Nam. Each year, the number of US outbound visitors reaches tens of millions arrivals. Therefore, VISTA would like to establish the bilateral relationship with ASTA in order to facilitate for tourism enterprises of the two countries, in particular in terms of visitor exchange.
Also at the ceremony, Mr. Robert Duglin appreciated Viet Nam as a growing tourism market. “We come to Viet Nam to learn about Viet Nam country and people. We will visit Hue, Sai Gon, Ninh Binh and many other tourist sites and introduce them to friends, colleagues, and US visitors, thereby promoting the number of US visitors to Viet Nam”, said Mr. Robert Duglin.
The US is one of major tourism markets of Viet Nam. In 2016, Viet Nam welcomed 552,644 US visitor arrivals, an increase of 12.5% over 2015. The signing of cooperation agreement between VISTA and ASTA is expected to contribute to increasing more the number of US visitors to Viet Nam in the coming time.
