(TITC) – In commemoration of the 57th anniversary of Viet Nam's tourism sector (July 9, 1960-2017), on July 08, at the Ha Noi Opera House, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in collaboration with Viet Nam Tourism Association (VITA) held a ceremony to honor the winners of Viet Nam Tourism Award 2017.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highly valued significant performance of tourism sector which highlighted its importance in socio-economic development. He appreciated the positive contribution of relevant agencies to abolishing barriers and facilitating tourism development; the communities’ role in promoting Viet Nam – a friendly, attractive and safe destination. Deputy Prime Minister especially praised the efforts and contribution of business community to the development of Viet Nam tourism.
He emphasized that the tourism sector should fully tap potentials and advantages of natural, cultural and human resources to offer international visitors truly interesting, unique and memorable experiences. He also asked VITA with its role representing interests of tourism enterprises to continue to propose policies in favor of their development.
First organized in 1999, Viet Nam Tourism Award is the most prestigious annual award of the Viet Nam’s tourism sector. The award aims to honor leading enterprises which have been successful in improving tourism service quality, diversifying tourism products, promoting Viet Nam tourism, and making significant contribution to tourism development.
