The primitive charm of the buckwheat flower fields is what makes the province distinctive and attractive. Buckwheat is cultivated for its grain-like seeds which are used to make food specialties by ethnic people in the mountainous region.
Since many people are fond of taking photos with stunning buckwheat flowers, owners of buckwheat fields allow them in to have an additional source of income. Each visitor pays an admission fee of VND20,000.
The flower is often planted around September. Those carpets of buckwheat flowers will lure many tourists to the province when they are in full bloom from late October to early November. The hills and mountains in the province are covered with the white and pink colors of the buckwheat flowers.
