International Travel Expo - Ho Chi Minh City has been affirming its position as one of leading tourism events

(TITC) - This is the assessment of Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien at the opening ceremony of the 13th International Travel Expo – Ho Chi Minh City 2017 (ITE – HCMC 2017) and Gala Dinner themed “Viet Nam Night” on 6 September 2017 at GEM Convention Centre, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program had the participations of tourism industry’s leaders of 5 countries including Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and numerous tour operators from many countries around the world.

Speaking at the Gala Dinner, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien emphasized ITE - HCMC has been affirming its position as one of the leading tourism events, a professional forum for tourism management agencies, tourism enterprises at home and abroad to meet, exchange and cooperate. Through the series of activities within the framework of the expo, visitors have the opportunity to learn about the people, history, culture and destinations of the countries in the region.

The highlight of the Gala Dinner is the art program featured the Viet Nam’s image with 54 ethnic groups and beautiful landscape sites, historical relics, diversified culture, friendly, gentle and hospitable people. Besides, the gala also brought the common art performances of “Five countries - One destination”.

With the theme “Your gateway to tourism in Asia”, the 13th ITE – HCMC 2017 is one of the important events in the field of culture, sports and tourism to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN). The expo continues being the ideal meeting place of national tourism organizations, tourism enterprises of the country, the region and the world.
