Kim Hoang folk painting rediscovered on Ha Noi’s pedestrian street

A program to learn about the tradition of Kim Hoang folk paintings for children and adults is set to take place from June 15-17 at the Exhibition House at 93 Dinh Tien Hoang Street in Ha Noi’s pedestrian street space.

Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities such ascreating traditional folk paintings and masks with the artists from Kim Hoang craft village, and students and lecturers from the Viet Nam University of Fine Arts.

Ancient Kim Hoang folk paintings will be also on show at the event. Kim Hoang folk paintings are a famous genre of painting in the northern delta region dating back to the 18th century. The genre has been restored since 2015, after a long period of falling out of use.
