Vietnam Airlines allows payment by QR code
Update: Jul 12, 2018
Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will start to allow customers to buy tickets using QR code through the National Payment Corporation of Viet Nam (NAPAS) and VNPay.

Customers of Vietnam Airlines will soon use QR Code to buy tickets

Customers can use various applications - including Momo and Moca - mobile banking, and Internet banking to pay for their tickets, along with the more traditional methods on their website or through travel agents.

Through the expansion of its payment methods, the national flag carrier has become a pioneer in technology application in the country.

Since the beginning of June 2018, Vietnam Airlines has made it possible for customers to book tickets on its hotlines (19001100 and 19001800) or pay with their bank cards through Internet banking, ATMs, or directly at Techcombank and Vietcombank transaction offices.

The airlines’ efforts to modernise its technology give customers more choices and convenience when using its services.

In the 2015-2017 period, Vietnam Airlines turned itself into a joint stock company with a new orientation and development policy.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates 90 routes to 20 domestic and 29 international destinations, with more than 400 flights each day.

The airlines own many modern airplane models such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, Airbus A350-900 XWB, Airbus A330, and Airbus A321.

In 2017, Vietnam Airlines recorded an impressive revenue of 88.4 trillion VND (nearly 3.9 bilion USD). It served 26.5 million passengers in the year, with its on-time rate reaching over 90 percent. It has been ranked four-stars by the UK-based airline review and rating organisation, Skytrax, for two consecutive years, and came 14th on the list of 20 best premium class airlines around the world.
