Update: Mar 09, 2020
"Ghen Co Vy", known as the “washing hands song” in English, is a Vietnamese public announcement aimed at providing listeners with prevention methods for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in a song which has been growing in popularity globally.

French television channel BFMTV is the latest place to feature the track.

The viral hit was originally composed by Khac Hung and performed by pop singers Min and Erik. The video that accompanies the song is considered to be a public information video that shows how normal citizens can stop the spread of the COVID-19 through maintaining proper hygiene standards.

Upon listening to the song, the French presenters appear enthusiastic and comment cheerfully on how effective the hit can be in helping to prevent the spread of the epidemic in Vietnam.

Parts of the song’s animated music video, which depicts funny images of the virus with people wearing masks and washing their hands, were shown during the episode on the French network.

In total, Vietnam has recorded 16 cases of the COVID-19 infection, all of whom have gone on to make a full recovery.
