Update: Apr 17, 2009
Thousands of visitors and nearly 100 delegations of pilgrims from Danang took part in the Ponaga Tower Festival 2009, which opened in Nha Trang in the south central province of Khanh Hoa on April 16.

This is a traditional festival celebrated at national level, which commemorates the Holy Mother Thien Y A Na, an ethnic Cham woman, who made a great contribution to developing the countryside, planting trees, tending wild animals and strengthening solidarity among Vietnam’s ethnic groups.

The festival will take place in Nha Trang from April 16-18. A range of diverse activities such as dragon and lion dances and Vietnamese opera will take place during the event with the participation of many artists from Quang Nam, Danang, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan.
