Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay on the sidelines of the 3rd UN Ocean Conference in France's Nice.

Pham expressed his pleasure to meet Azoulay again, affirming that Viet Nam always upholds the role and contributions of UNESCO in maintaining peace and security and in fostering sustainable development in the world through promoting multilateral cooperation in education, culture, science, information and communication.
The Vietnamese leader congratulated Director-General Azoulay on the achievements gained by UNESCO and thanked UNESCO for its effective assistance and cooperation with Viet Nam over the past 50 years.
Azoulay spoke highly of Viet Nam's engagement as member of the World Heritage Committee as well as the Southeast Asian country's increasingly high role, position and voice in UNESCO, expressing her wish that Viet Nam would continue this course.
Prime Minister Pham took the occasion to invite Azoulay to visit Viet Nam again and call for her support for Viet Nam's heritage nominations./.
