(TITC) - On December 28, in Dubai, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism had a working session with Mr. Ahmad Khailifa Al Falasi - General Director of Dubai Economic and Tourism Authority on the occasion of Vietnam National Day organized at World Expo 2020 Dubai.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong shared information about Vietnam's tourism situation, affirming that despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam is still the Asia's leading destination with titles and awards in the categories of destinations, resorts, environment... Vietnam was honored as Asia’s Leading Destination, Asia’s Best Golf Destination, Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination.
In order to flexibly and safely adapt to the "new normal", the Government of Vietnam is constantly updating and adjusting immigration policies and regulations related to reopen the tourism.
He also affirmed that in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the participation in the World Expo 2020 Dubai is a great effort of Government of Vietnam.

Dubai tourism as well as Vietnam tourism is ready to open. However, Mr. Ahmad said that the information about Vietnam tourism is still very limited. Dubai and Arab people are only familiar with the tourist markets of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Therefore, in the coming time, both sides need to enhance promotion and communication.
He proposed Vietnam consider exempting visas for Arab tourists, creating a friendly and hospitable tourism environment, suitable to the tastes of this market.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to closely coordinate in the coming time, provide information on international tourism events and plan to organize promotion and marketing activities, coordinate with Emirates, Vietnam Airlines, travel agencies to develop tourism between Vietnam and the Emirate of Dubai in particular and the Middle East in general.
