The classical drama art is a familiar spirit dish in the life of Vietnamese people in hundreds of years.
 The classical drama art’s specific characteristic is to concentrate on internal life of dramatis personae by stylized movements. It has the special advantage of representing people’s utmost emotions. Therefore, the classical drama art is considered as a scholarly stage art form
The Vietnam Tuong Theatre was established in 1959 with mission of the classical drama art preservation and development. From early 2008, the theatre has brought the classical drama art to perform and exchange culture with many countries in the world such as: France, German, America, USSR, Span, Korea, Japan…
The theatre currently has the following shows:
“An old man carries his wife on the back to a festival†extract: This is one of the folk spectaculars, which has been preserved and developed by the theatre. In this extract one actor performs two characters: the old man and the young wife. This makes the performance more attractive and stimulates the audience's imagination. The performance has been toured to many countries.
 “Ho Nguyet Co turning into a fox†extract: It has thought value and deep human culture. You can see a harmonious combination of singing, dancing, music and acting in the performance.
The Vietnam court music (major music and minor music): Masterpiece of oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
â€Lion giving birth†dance: Rooted and developed from Hue imperial palace, the dance praises love and happiness as well as natural law of all beings&
