After nearly 10 days of activity, the 1st Co Tu Ethnic Traditional Sculpture Creation Camp in 2023, hosted by the People's Committee of Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province closed on July 29th. Many outstanding works of art were awarded by the organizers.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the closing ceremony.
Despite being organized for the first time, the Co Tu Ethnic Traditional Sculpture Creation Camp has attracted nearly 40 participants, including sculptors and artisans from both inside and outside the province.
With their talent and dedication, the artisans have created a total of 143 works, primarily revolving around the life, people, architecture, and traditional festivals… of the Co Tu ethnic community.
The creators will be granted intellectual property rights as per regulations, and the local People's Committee will protect their rights over the works they have crafted. On this occasion, the organizing committee also rewarded outstanding artists for their remarkable works.
According to the organizers, this sculpture creation camp aims to raise community awareness of cultural heritage preservation while providing viewers with authentic experiences and impressive emotions through direct interactions and exchanges with the artisans. Furthermore, it seeks to deepen people's understanding of the traditional cultural values of the Co Tu people through the presentation of artistic techniques and the masterpieces created by the talented artisans.
