The gongs are the spiritual voice and soul of the local people, their origins lost to history. According to Central Highlands beliefs, gongs enable humans to communicate with the supernatural world. They symbolize prosperity, power, and safety for every family and community.

Since being recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2005, the Space of Gong Culture in the Central Highlands has become a cornerstone of local culture and a major tourist attraction.

The Central Highlands Gong Festival is often organized by ethnic groups such as the Gia Rai, Ede Kpah, Ba Na, Xo Dang, Brau, and Co Ho. Each group’s gong dances are distinct, with melodies deeply connected to their daily lives, hearts, thoughts, and emotions.
