Quang Nam Tourism and Culture Week will take place in Vietnam Art Culture Exhibition Centre, 2 Hoa Lu St, Hai Ba Trung Dist., Hanoi from November 20 to 23, 2009.
This event will be organized to welcome Vietnam Culture Heritage Day November 23 and lead up to the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. Under the support of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Hanoi People’s Committee, Quang Nam People’s Committee will display Quang Nam’s social – economic achievements and honour cultural values in Hoi An – My Son on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of UNESCO-recognized two destinations as the world heritage sites.
The Quang Nam Tourism and Culture Week in Hanoi will include the exhibition on two world heritage sites of My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient City, the exhibition on images and items of Sa Huynh Culture in Quang Nam, the display of products from Quang Nam’s traditional villages of Thanh Ha Pottery Village, Kim Bong Carpentry Village, Ma Chau Silk Village, Ban Thach Mat Making Village, Phuoc Kieu Bronze Casting Village and other tourism products
In addition, some traditional art programs will be performed during the event such as: traditional costume performance, calligraphy and parallel sentences arts, folk games, Hanoi – Hoi An art exchange night. Taking part the event, tourists will be also enjoyed Quang Nam’s specialities of cao lau, Quang noodles, and many kinds of cakes like banh beo, banh trang hap, banh bao, banh vac…
Through this event, Quang Nam Province will have opportunity to promote its cultural values, especially My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient City recognized by UNESCO as the world heritage sites to Hanoians and international tourists.
