Danang to host International Fireworks Competition 2010

The central city of Danang will host the International Fireworks Competition 2010, which will take place on March 27 and 28 next year. This will be the third time that the city has hosted such event.

This event will be held under the theme the “Legend of Han River” with the participation of teams from the US, Japan, France, Portugal and the host Danang.

In addition to fireworks display, spectators will have a chance to enjoy music and dance performances and lantern floats.

The municipal People’s Committee said that the city will build a grand stand with a capacity of 30,000 people to serve local people and visitors.

Global 2000 of Malaysia has signed a contract worth USD465,000 to make preparations for the competition.

In the International Firework Competition 2009, the first prize went to the Chinese team. The Australian team won the second prize while the Philippine team shared the consolation prize with the host team.

During the International Firework Competition 2009, Danang received 60,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 20%.
