Around 50 calligraphy works depicting the beauty of the Vietnamese are being displayed at HCMC Youth Cultural House through February 3 to mark the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Communist Party.
The works, featuring the people’s life and philosophy on paper, wood and canvas, were composed by more than 15 members of HCMC Youth Cultural House’s Calligraphy Club.
At opening ceremony of the exhibition entitled
Ngan Xuan on January 24, the calligraphers joined with the audience to make a huge calligraphy painting about spring and peach blossoms. Visitors are encouraged to contribute their signature.
Enthusiastic young calligraphers will be available to present words to exhibition visitors.
According to Nguyen Dang Hoc, chairman of the club, the group will make a 5m by 3m calligraphy work on canvas on January 30.
The work will be entered to the Vietnam Record Book as the biggest of its kind in the country.
