Doi Duong beach located in the center of La Gi town attracts numerous of people because of its charming scenery, wide space, warm water without rock. There are innumerable casuarina hills winding above the beach and boats busily passing by the open sea. A small islet called Hon Ba is 2 km from the seaside with a natural area of nearly 2.8 hectares, 30 meters above sea level and a perimeter of 800 meters. This is a turtle-shaped island with a lot of rocks surrounding it. On the island, there are many green trees, ancient trees, particularly a temple worshipping goddess Thien Y A Na.
From far distance, the island is green and smooth, like a musical note emerging on the waves. If possible, visitors can sit on fishermen's boats to visit Hon Ba island and experience exciting pleasures such as fishing, exploring caves, diving, catching clams... Every year, on March 23 of lunar calendar, La Gi people solemnly organize the Goddess's birthday festival. On that occasion, they express their respect for the Goddess Thien A Na, pray for favourable weather, calm sea and fishermen's good fishing. Hon Ba island and Doi Duong beach are the symbols of La Gi, an area of sun and wind.
