In 2013, the provincial tourism sector continues trying to fulfill tasks, maintain the growth, and further develop in comparison with 2012.
2012 was a hard year not only for various industries but also for tourism. Nevertheless, by taking full advantage of opportunities, together with the State's assistance, Hai Duong provincial tourism industry still acquired encouraging results. The revenues reached more than VND971 billion, up 14.4% compared with 2011. The visitors to Hai Duong totaled 2.7 million, up 11.49%. The staying guests attained to over 747,000 times, up 12.05% (of which, nearly 150,000 times of international tourists coming for sightseeing and relaxation, up 5.94%). The rate of room occupation was 68-72%.
In 2013, the provincial tourism sector continues trying to fulfill tasks, maintain the growth, and further develop in comparison with 2012: to obtain the revenues of VND1,130 billion, up 16.3%, to attract about 3 million times of visitors, up 9.3%, to serve 850,000 times of visitors in staying facilities, up 13.8%.
To accomplish the defined objectives, the tourism industry requests the provincial authority soon to issue preferential policies to attract domestic and foreign investors; to give reasonable financial assistance to the sector in order that it implements such tourism projects as developing provincial tourism in 2011-2015 period; expanding community tourism at Chi Lang Nam Stork Island tourist area (Thanh Mien); organizing activities in response to the Red River Delta's National Tourism Year. The sector continues cultivating, training the human source to enhance its quality; stepping up tourism propagation, popularization, and promotion; actively sending delegations for market research, experience acquisition at home and abroad; improving state management of tourism; etc.
