The 2013 Vietnam-Japan Spring Festival will be held in Hanoi from April 20-21, as part of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Association (VJCA) Vu Khac Lien announced the plan for the festival at a press conference in Hanoi on April 12.
The event will highlight Japanese special cultural features such as tea ceremony, origami (paper folding art), Hina dolls, Mikoshi (the traditional palanquin procession ceremony) and traditional dances.
Thirty-six cuisine pavilions are set to introduce to visitors popular traditional food of the two countries.
The event will be jointly held by VJCA and the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
