Under the decision of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently signed an extended dossier with some added criteria on Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a World Natural Heritage for the 2nd time.
The Ministry was asked to cooperate with Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO to complete necessary procedures to submit the dossier to UNESCO World Heritage Centre.
Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, located in Bo Trach district in the centre of Quang Binh province, was recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003.
At present, the national park has become a key tourism site of the nation in particular and the world in general.
