The 2014 International Food Festival, featuring 70 domestic and international booths, kicked off on April 15 in Hue city’s Phu Xuan Park.
The event, part of this year’s Hue Festival, introduces specialities from restaurants and hotels located in Viet Nam and seven other countries and territories: Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Taiwan (China).
This year’s festival features a wide variety of entertainment and activities such as the food booths and demonstrations of how the specialities of participating countries are processed, to be held on the main stage.
Visitors also have the chance to take part in a beer festival, taste Hue-branded cocktails and cocktails made from Vietnamese wines as well as famous global brands while enjoying the performances of flair bartenders.
The annual event is intended to honour and promote the quintessence of Vietnamese culinary culture, particularly that which is native to Hue.
It also offers a good opportunity to introduce the image of Vietnamese tourism, especially the ancient city of Hue, to international visitors and to strengthen co-operation between Viet Nam and other countries in the region in developing the tourism industry.
The 2014 Hue International Food Festival runs through April 19.
