(TITC) - With the theme “Peaceful dance”, the 5th International Kite Festival will be held from 8 to 12 May 2014 in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province for the purpose of promoting the national traditional values and developing kite art in Viet Nam.
The opening ceremony of the festival will take place in the hall of Vung Tau Intourco Resort (Vung Tau City) and be followed by kite performances and competitions in Paradise Resort Golf Course, Vung Tau Tourism Market Area, Bien Dong Resort, Vung Tau Intourco Resort (Vung Tau City) and the ground by provincial administrative centre (Truong Chinh Street, Phuoc Trung Ward, Ba Ria City).
The International Kite Festival 2014 is expected to have the participation of 80 Vietnamese kite artisans and 75 international ones from 29 countries and territories including Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, France, UK, Austria, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Philippines, China, Hong Kong (China), Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Taiwan (China), Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Canada, USA, Brazil and Mexico. The festival promises to bring the impressive and attractive kite performances for visitors.
In the framework of the festival, many diversified activities will be held such as kite exhibition; the class of designing and making kite; kite performances; and competitions of Rokkaku kite, art kite, flute kite…
As 1 of 7 outstanding culture, sports and tourism events of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province in 2014, the international kite festival is expected to attract the large number of domestic and international visitors to Ba Ria – Vung Tau during the festival. This is also an opportunity for businesses to introduce the brands, exchange experiences in development of kite art; and promote the images of Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Viet Nam to international friends.
