(TITC) - Cua Lo Tourism Festival with the theme “Cua Lo Dawn” will take place from 30 April to 1 May 2014 in Cua Lo Town, Nghe An Province. This is an outstanding culture tourism event of Cua Lo Town in 2014 which aims to affirm Cua Lo sea cultural values and promote tourism potentials of Cua Lo as well as Nghe An to domestic and international visitors.

The festival will include typical activities such as sacrificing ceremony in Van Loc Temple, traditional boat race, folk games, art exchange program between Radio and Television Stations nationwide and Lao National Radio and Television Station, fireworks performance... Besides, in this summer tourism season (from May to August), many exciting activities will also take place in Cua Lo Town including the 2nd Cua Lo open sea golf tournament; culinary competition of North Central region, coracle race...
In preparation for Cua Lo Tourism Festival and at the same time leading up to the 20th anniversary of Cua Lo Town, the town People’s Committee directed to train in communication culture for units and individuals participating in tourism business; plan to coordinate with Nam Dan District and Vinh City for improving the service quality in tourist sites. In particular, on 12 March, Cua Lo People's Committee held a press conference in Ha Noi to introduce Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2014 and promote the image of Cua Lo tourism. In addition, the town People's Committee also developed the project to upgrade Cua Lo Tourism Festival into the provincial festival featured for Nghe An sea tourism.
In 2013, the number of tourists to Cua Lo reached 2.12 million arrivals, up 9.6% compared with 2012, of which 1.345 million overnight arrivals and 540 thousand international arrivals. Tourism receipts was VND1,460 billion, up 29.2% over the previous year. In 2014, Cua Lo Town strives for welcoming 2.25 million tourist arrivals, including more than 1.4 million overnight arrivals and 550 thousand international arrivals; reaching tourism receipts of VND1,750 billion; training 85-90% qualified tourism labour.
