(TITC) – According to the General Statistics Office, international visitors to Viet Nam in the first 6 months of 2014 estimated 4,287,885 arrivals, increasing 21.11% over the same period last year.
By purposes, the visitors for leisure and tourism estimated 2,588,226 arrivals, up 19.3%; business 720,935 (+21.68%); visiting relatives 739,536 (+25.35%); and other purposes 239,188 (+26.87%) over the same period of 2013.
Most of source markets recorded positive growth in the first 6 months of 2014, namely Hong Kong (+140.61%), Germany (+115.87%), China (+37.45%), Laos (+38.83%), Cambodia (+30.09%), Russia (+25.95%), Spain (+25.73%)…
However, the number of int’l visitors to Viet Nam in June of 2014 estimated 539,776 arrivals, down 19.94% over last month and down 4.85% comparing with June of 2013 because of present low tourism season.
The number of domestic trippers in the first 6 months of 2014 estimated 23.4 million trips, up 6.9% over the same period last year; total tourism receipts reached VND 125,000 billions, up 22.5%.
