Update: Jul 02, 2014
(TITC) – On 30 June 2014, Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) launched tourism roadshow in Yaroslavl City’s Cultural Center. It was the third tourism roadshow in the framework of VNAT’s promotion campaign in Russia after the launch in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The roadshow attracted the participants of over 30 Russian tour operators in Yaroslavl City, representatives of Yaroslavl City’s Department of Tourism and local media agencies who came to exchange information and seek business cooperation with Vietnamese tourism enterprises.

Yaroslavl City is located about 280 km from Moscow Capital to the Northeast which is considered as a jewel of Russia’s famous Golden Ring – the tourist route around 8 old cities of Russia’s heartland. Yaroslavl, one of the oldest cities of Russia, stores many historical monuments including the world’s cultural heritage sites and unique architectures built from 15th to 19th centuries such as: old churches, monasteries and friaries. Especially, Yaroslavl is one of the first cities of Russia to shake hands with Viet Nam in economic cooperation years ago and Yaroslavl and coastal city of Da Nang have also long been sister cities.

The roadshow in Yaroslavl was a chance contributing to tightening the close traditional relationship, enhancing bilateral cultural and tourism cooperation, attracting more Russian tourists to Viet Nam.

In 2013, Russian tourist growth rised by 71.1% over 2012 and ranked the 9th among the top 10 source markets of Viet Nam tourism. In the first 6 months of 2014, Russian visitors to Viet Nam increased by 25.95% over the same period last year, reaching more than 193,000 arrivals.
