The community of Vietnamese ethnic groups lead up to sea, islands, borders and national sovereignty

(TITC) - On 28 and 29 June 2014, the traditional festival on sea, islands, borders and national sovereignty of the community of Vietnamese ethnic groups will take place in Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture – Tourism Village (Dong Mo, Son Tay Town, Ha Noi) to strengthen the great national unity and express the voice of the community of Vietnamese ethnic groups about sea and islands sovereignty. This is one of activities to respond to Viet Nam’s Family Day (28 June).

The festival is expected to attract the participations of over 200 people from 32 ethnic groups in 8 provinces and cities. In addition, over 500 soldiers from army units and Youth Union members of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also participate in this event.

The highlight of the festival is arts program “A great family of Vietnamese ethnic groups and sacred national sovereignty” in the evening of 28 June. Besides, some traditional festivals of Vietnamese ethnic groups will be performed such as worshiping ritual of the Sea God (Po Riayak) of Cham people from Ninh Thuan Province; Le khao le the linh Hoang Sa (Feast and Commemoration Festival for Hoang Sa Soldiers) of fishermen from Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province), whale worshiping festival of Da Nang fishermen...

In the framework of the festival, many activities on sea, islands, borders and national sovereignty will be also held such as exhibition and documentary film screenings on sea and islands sovereignty of Viet Nam; exchange program and signature collection of representatives of Vietnamese ethnic groups, youths and visitors into four Viet Nam maps...

In the context of the localities nationwide have held many exciting activities on the sea and islands, the traditional festival of the community of Vietnamese ethnic groups contributes to affirming sovereignty of Viet Nam over sea, islands and also attracts numerous people and international friends.
